In a series of strategic visits across Europe and Asia throughout January and February 2024, Tsinghua University's leadership, including President Li Luming and secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee Qiu Yong, embarked on a mission to deepen global partnerships and dialogue. Their engagements spanned the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, academic collaborations in Switzerland and Italy, and pivotal discussions in Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand, aiming at fostering advancements in education, technology, and cultural exchanges. The visits not only reinforced existing relationships but also opened avenues for future collaborations, enhancing Tsinghua's influence and network on the global stage.

Tsinghua President Li Luming visits Switzerland, enhances global cooperation
Tsinghua University President Li Luming led a delegation to Switzerland from January 14 to 18, highlighted by their participation in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos. The visit focused on dialogues regarding pressing global issues and advancing international cooperation in higher education, with Vice President Wang Hongwei attending select events.
Tsinghua President Li Luming paves way for further collaboration with partners in Italy
Tsinghua University President Li Luming led a delegation to Italy from January 19 to 21, participating in the 2024 Milan Academic Week, which was hosted by the China-Italy Design Innovation Hub of Tsinghua University. The delegation, including Vice President Wang Hongwei, engaged with local academic, research, and cultural leaders to foster humanistic exchanges, scientific innovation, and talent development.
2024 Milan Academic Week held
The opening ceremony of 2024 Milan Academic Week, China-Italy Design Innovation Hub, Tsinghua University, themed “Dialogue for Innovation between Civilizations” commenced on January 20 in Milan. Professor Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Liu Kan, Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Milan, professor Giuliano Noci, Vice Rector for Chinese Affairs of Politecnico di Milano, and Mrs. Maria Rosa Azzolina, President of Istituto Italo Cinese, attended the Opening Ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by professor Wang Hongwei, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Director of the Management Committee China-Italy Design Innovation Hub.
Qiu Yong leads delegation to Singapore to advance in-depth exchanges and cooperation
A delegation led by Qiu Yong, secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, visited Singapore from January 25 to 27. This visit aimed to deepen cooperation between Tsinghua and Singapore in the fields of education, technology, humanities, medicine, and public health. Another objective was to contribute to the development of a comprehensive and forward-looking partnership between China and Singapore.

Qiu Yong visits Thailand, strengthens international cooperation
Qiu Yong, secretary of the CPC Tsinghua Committee, led a delegation to visit Thailand from Jan 30 to Feb 3. Following an important consensus reached between the leaders of both countries, the visit aimed to deepen cooperation between Tsinghua and Thailand in education, science and technology, humanities, and other fields, contributing to the building of a more stable, prosperous and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future.
