On Saturday, April 14, U-Run 2018, the Tsinghua University Annual Ma Yuehan Cup Marathon Competition took place. More than 3000 professors, students, and alumni participated in this competition, including Tsinghua University’s vice president, Wang Xiqin, Tsinghua University’s vice chairman and Tsinghua University’s athletic director, Shi Zongkai.
This year’s marathon consisted of 4 races: the men’s half marathon (around 21km), the women’s half-marathon, the men’s 10km marathon, and the women’s 10km marathon. The path of this year’s marathon passed many famous places of Tsinghua.
The winner of this year’s men’s half-marathon was Tsinghua’s alumni, Quan Changhe, who ran a time of 1 hour 20 minutes 14 seconds. The student Li ChenXi from the Department of Computer Science and Technology took the 2nd place and the student Zhang Dongdong from the Department of Mechanical Engineering took the 3rd place.
The Student Wang Yueyong from the School of Economics and Management ran a time of 1 hour 28 minutes and 43 seconds to finish first in the women’s half marathon, followed by Wang Fangqing from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Li Ying from the Property Management Center.
The winner of this year’s men’s 10km marathon was Li Miao from the School of Aerospace Engineering with a time of 37 minutes and 12 seconds, followed by Professor Chen Zhipeng from the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology and Ma Yubo from the Xinya College.
Guo Qing, a student from the School of Economics and Management, won the women’s 10km marathon with a time of 45 minutes and 3 seconds. Wang Xuejia, a freshman of the School of Architecture, came in second, and Shi Xiaoqi from the Department of Mechanical Engineering came in third.
The Marathon was a good opportunity for everyone to make some new friends and experience to run a marathon. This year’s marathon was definitely a great success, and we look forward to the next year’s marathon!
