The "Yi Exploring the Star Sea, Leading the Trade Port" Hainan Practice Team from the Precision Instrumentation Department visited Hainan University Undergraduate College for research exchange on the afternoon of January 26, 2026. Nie Zongxiu, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Hainan University, Liu Yufu, Party Secretary of the Undergraduate College, Geng Gang, Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate College, Zhang Gaofei, Party Secretary of the Precision Instrumentation Department, Xiao Qirong, Deputy Party Secretary of the Precision Instrumentation Department, and more than 30 teachers and students from the practice team participated in the symposium.

In addition to welcoming the visit of the Precision Instrumentation Department practice team, Nie Zongxiu also introduced the recent development overview and talent cultivation characteristics of Hainan University. He expressed hope that both parties would take this exchange as a starting point to further expand cooperation areas, share experiences in education, and jointly serve national strategies and local development. Geng Gang introduced the university's undergraduate education and teaching reform progress in recent years, focusing on the implementation progress and achievements of the three major reforms: the complete credit system, the residential college system, and the collaborative innovation centers.

Zhang Gaofei made an introduction to the overall situation and remarkable achievements of the Precision Instrumentation Department in recent years from multiple dimensions, encompassing historical evolution, talent cultivation, disciplinary development, and scientific research outcomes. Xiao Qirong presented an introduction on the department's student work, sharing the innovative practices and achievements of the Precision Instrumentation Department in building a deeply integrated collaborative education system that combines "Three-Wide Education" and "Five-Education Co-development".

During the exchange session, both parties made in-depth discussions on specific topics including high-level talent recruitment, interdisciplinary collaboration, implementation of the undergraduate mentorship system, deep integration of party building and research, refined employment guidance for students, and reform of the grade evaluation system.

The practice team also visited the Hainan University History Museum and the Collaborative Innovation Center before the symposium, gaining a deeper understanding of the university's founding history as well as its innovative research and achievement transformation in areas such as southern breeding, biological manufacturing, deep-sea space resources, and characteristic laboratories.

Through this research exchange, a deeper understanding between both parties has been promoted. It is hoped that in the future, a long-term mechanism can be established in areas such as scientific research collaboration, joint talent cultivation, and academic exchange, to carry out more substantive and closer cooperation in serving the nation's major strategies and the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
