With the slogan of “world-class ability, worldwide influence”, our department guides students to enter the society, to join the grassroots, to serve our country, and to “get education, develop skills, make contribution” outside school, through organizing various social practice activities including social service, hot-spots investigation, professional expertise etc. High-quality practice projects including “spring bud”, “retrace the process of the president”, “Grassroots research practice project” and “precision intelligent manufacturing 2025” have won the university practice gold and silver medals. Overseas practices, such as “Yi Ma Dang Xian” and “Yi Ou” are organized to broaden students' global perspectives and enhance their global competence as they explore destinations like Malaysia, Germany, and Switzerland.
Additionally, we develop the “Yi Lu Xun Guang”offcampus practice brand and the “Yi Tan Jiu Jing”oncampus practice brand activities to encourage students to focus on national strategic needs, inspire them to set ambitious goals and take on larger roles, and contribute their efforts to the nation's development through the strength of our School of Precision Instrumentation.
To provide graduate students chances to know the national condition, platform to contribute to the society, opportunity to practice themselves, and guidance to career development, several departmentlevel PhD-students practice bases including Research Institute of Tsinghua, Pearl River Delta, Changchun National Extreme Precision Optics Co., Ltd., Tianjin Jingwei Hirain Technology Co., Ltd,and Jiangsu Joyotech Co.,Ltd were established around the two national first-level disciplines of DPI.
Establish a volunteer service and labor education system, actively organizing volunteer recruitment and coordination for significant events such as the pandemic response, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party, and the Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Through these efforts, promote the spirit of volunteering and foster a vibrant volunteer culture. Organize the “Qing Yan Ai Lao Dong”campaign, laboratory safety inspections, and a series of labor education activities. Promote the spirit of great scientists, popularize knowledge about major national projects, and contribute to the revitalization of rural education and the cultivation of rural talent. Develop the “Yi Xin Ai Guo” and “Xiang Yan Zhu Fei”labor education brands,more than 6000 people participated in the event.
