The Precision Instrumentation Department held a research award application training session themed "The Three Steps of Scientific and Technological Awards — Knowledge, Cultivation, and Competition" in Conference Room 401 of Building 9003 on the morning of August 20, 2025. Department Director Liu Qiang, Deputy Director Zhou Bin, and more than 20 teachers and research backbones attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhou Bin. This meeting aimed to deeply interpret the national science and technology award application policies, strengthen the systematic understanding of research teams regarding award applications, and lay a foundation for subsequent application work.
Meng Xianfei, Director of the Scientific Research Achievement Management Office of the Research Academy, was invited to deliver a thematic report, elaborating in detail on the long-term cultivation process for scientific research awards. He pointed out that the cultivation of project awards requires early-stage planning, focusing on the continuous accumulation of achievements and innovative breakthroughs. He also emphasized the close integration of the "Four Orientations" with the nation's medium- and long-term scientific and technological development plan. The report also focused on analyzing the latest reform developments of national science and technology awards, including adjustments to nomination rules and the refinement of evaluation standards. It was noted that the application work requires the full participation of the team, with division of labor and collaboration, forming a joint mechanism of "united hearts and close cooperation".
