The first report meeting of “80th anniversary series academic report of Department of Precision Instruments & Mechanology” was successfully held at the conference room at 14:00 PM in April 25, 2012. During this meeting, appointment ceremony of part-time professor of Guo Dongming, who is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, was held successfully.

This meeting was directed by dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and the project leader, Professor You Zheng. Also, the academic achievements of Guo Dongming were introduced on the meeting. Qiu Yong, who is the vice president of Tsinghua University, also attended this meeting on behalf of the school. And he issued a letter of appointment of part-time professor to Guo Dongming, accompanies with his representation of thanks and congratulations.

Subsequently, a wonderful academic report on the title of “the precision manufacturing technology for high performance (parts / components)” was presented by Guo Dongming. He also introduced latest research results on “Precision manufacturing process facing the performance of parts / components”, “Ultra precision grinding by soft abrasive wheel”, and “Manufacture of large scale carbon fiber compound materials” by his academic research team. Students and faculty for more than 60 people from DPIM attended to the meeting, and obtained an opportunity of face-to-face communication between the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The party secretary of the Department Professor Feng PingFa, Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Department Luo Jianbin, who is also the Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, and vice dean of the Department Professor Meng Yonggang participated in this meeting.
