Holding of the 4th "Tsinghua University 9003+" Alumni Forum of the Department of Precision Instruments

The 4th "Tsinghua University 9003+" Alumni Forum of the Department of Precision Instruments was held in Huzhou from November 29th to December 1st. This event was jointly organized by the Department of Precision Instruments Alumni Association under the Tsinghua Alumni Association and the Department of Precision Instruments of Tsinghua University.

On the afternoon of November 29th, an alumni venture capital project roadshow was conducted. The eight projects presented, all centered around the optoelectronics and semiconductor sectors, provided insights into their cutting-edge research. This collaborative effort aimed to foster industrial innovation and advancement, expedite the commercialization of scientific breakthroughs, and invigorate the industry's sustainable growth.

On the main forum day of December 30th, the event included various sessions such as guest addresses, a work report from the Tsinghua Alumni Association, a development update on the Department of Precision Instruments, keynote speeches on semiconductors, smart chips, and related topics, a roundtable discussion, the Department of Precision Instruments Industry Development Forum and Postdoctoral Forum, and presentations on research and industry themes. Notable attendees included Chen Lianghui, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Engineering's Semiconductor Research Institute and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhu Liang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Tsinghua Alumni Association and Deputy Director of the Alumni Affairs Office at Tsinghua University, Liu Qiang, Dean of the Department of Precision Instruments, Zhang Gaofei, Party Secretary of the Department of Precision Instruments, Yu Shijie, Deputy Party Secretary of Beijing Information Science and Technology University, Qin Weifang, President of the Shanghai Alumni Association of Tsinghua University and Chairman of Shanghai Huahong Jitong Smart System Co., Ltd., Yang Qinghua, President of the Tsinghua University Alumni Association in Huzhou, and retired faculty representatives from the Department of Precision Instruments, including Ding Tianhuai, Dong Jingxin, and Pan Longfa. Nearly 200 alumni from government, business, academic, research, and innovation sectors also participated, coming together to celebrate the "Precision Instrument People" event, reminisce about their shared past, discuss industry trends, and collaboratively shape a promising future.

On the morning of December 1st, a group of nearly forty individuals, comprising leaders from the Department of Precision Instruments, retired faculty representatives, alumni representatives, and some guests, visited two exemplary companies, Tonytech and Huatong Optics, as well as the Tsinghua Alumni Huzhou Activity Center. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into the development of local alumni businesses and related industries.

Reflecting the spirit of "No sports, no Tsinghua", the event also featured a healthy long-distance running activity. Participants from the Department of Precision Instruments exemplified their dedication to the motto "Strive to work healthily for the motherland for at least fifty years".
