The Precision Instrumentation Department Holds a Faculty-Wide Meeting

On September 27, 2023, the Department of Precision Instrumentation held an all-faculty meeting at the Innovation Building in Tsinghua Science Park. The meeting was attended by nearly 80 people, including members of the department's party and government leadership team, all incumbent faculty members, some former leaders, and representatives of retired faculty. The meeting was chaired by the department head, Qiang Liu.


At the meeting, Qiang Liu conveyed the spirit of the university's summer work conference and made specific arrangements and emphases on talent team construction, educational and teaching reform, talent cultivation effectiveness, research platform construction, and department governance system reform.


The deputy secretary of the department's party committee, Guanhao Wu, reported on behalf of the party committee about the rectification work following an inspection. He also reported on the party construction, talent training, scientific research, security system construction, party and mass work, and system construction, emphasizing comprehensive and strict party governance and warning education, using high-profile university disciplinary cases as references. He called for the tone of strictness to be maintained throughout the party building and core work, to establish and observe rules in practice, and to implement the policy of "do not dare to be corrupt, cannot be corrupt, do not want to be corrupt" integrally.


The leaders in charge of various divisions also reported on the progress of key work in scientific research, teaching, student affairs, faculty affairs, and administrative work for the year, and the work deployment for the next stage.


Subsequently, Rong Zhang, director of the Navigation Center, and Hongbo Sun, leader of the Nano-Optics Team, introduced the construction and development plans of the State Key Laboratory of Precision Measurement Technology and Instruments and the National Key Laboratory of Time and Space Information Precision Sensing Technology.


Finally, in his concluding remarks, Qiang Liu pointed out that promoting the reforms of the Department of Precision Instrumentation is not only a concrete measure to implement relevant central policy documents and university regulations, but also an inherent requirement for advancing the high-quality development of the department. He expressed the hope that all faculty members will work together with one heart and one mind, unify their thoughts on doing business, concentrate their energy on doing practical work, and focus their efforts on implementation. He stressed the need to comprehensively promote the modernization of the department's governance system and governance capabilities, to drive the continuous development of the Department of Precision Instrumentation.
