On Feb 22nd, 2017, the 6th Tsinghua-Yonsei University Seminar was held in Department of Precision Instrument. The conference was presided by Prof. Xue Wang, the associate director of department.

First, Prof. Zheng Ouyang, the director of department, welcomed the guests from Yonsei University. He introduced the historical development, the teaching personnel system reform, and the present information of the teachers, the undergraduates, and the postgraduates. He wished to have a deeper cooperation on student exchange with Yonsei University.

After that, Profs. Zheng Ouyang and Heoung Jae Chun introduced the teaching and research information on precision instrument and mechanical engineering of Tsinghua and Yonsei Universities, respectively. Profs. Yonggang Meng, Haitao Zhang, Xiaofeng Wang, Gaoshan Jing, Xiaoxiao Ma, and Bo Wang from Tsinghua University respectively gave speeches named “Fast near field nanolithography”, “Femtosecond fiber lasers”, “Nano devices for energy storage and energy harvesting”, “High performance perovskite solar cells by a novel hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition method (HPCVD)”, “Disease diagnostics by identifying and quantifying unsaturated lipids using mass spectrometry”, and “High-Precision measurement of signal transmission delay in optical fiber”. Profs. Hyun Seok Yang, Dae-Eun Kim, No Cheol Park, WonHyoung Ryu, and Keon Wook Kang from Yonsei University respectively gave speeches named “Design and control of various types of mobile robots”, “Fundamental Frictional Behavior of Materials”, “Vibration analysis of reactor internals in APR1400 and SMART”, “Nano electrode system for direct extraction of photosynthetic electrons”, and “Stress dependence of cross-slip energy barrier for face-centered cubic nickel”. During the speeches, the speakers shared their newest discovery and achievement, and discussed on potential development tendencies with the audience. About fifty teachers and students listened to the speeches.

After the speeches, the professors from Yonsei University visited the department and discussed on recent academic cooperation and student exchange. This Tsinghua-Yonsei University Seminar is held each year to improve the communication between two universities, exhibit the achievement on teaching and research, and facilitate the commercialization of research findings.
