Biography

Dr. Wang Yong is a tenured professor, doctual supervisor and the Deputy Director at the Institute of Economics, School of Social Science, Tsinghua University. He also serves as the Director of Tsinghua Digital Economic Research Center of School of Social Sciences (TDER), and the Vice-President of the Society of Chinese Commercial History, as well as the President of the Business History Branch of SCCH. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. degree at Peking University and finished the postdoctoral study at the Department of Economics, Harvard University. He has also been a Santander Visiting Scholar at Oxford University.

Dr. Wang’s main research interests include Firm Theory, Digital Economy, and the reform of SOEs. More than 60 high-quality academic papers have so far been published by either domestic or international top jounals, like Economic Research Journal and International Review of Economics & Finance for instance. Besides, academic monographs comprise a large proportion of his publications, including influential books Platform Governance, New Cyber Economy, and Entrepreneurship and China’s Economy. He has presided over a number of vertical projects suported by national fundings, such as the National Social Science Foundation Major Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of Ministry of Education of China.
