The Kanomax Award is a highly selective biennial honor established by the AARA. It is granted to a single individual each term to recognize an Asian scientist or engineer who has demonstrated extraordinary excellence in the field of aerosol measurement and experimental techniques.

Professor Jiang’s work focuses on environmental monitoring, the causes and control of air pollution, and aerosol science and technology. He has spearheaded several high-stakes initiatives, including projects under the National Key R&D Program of China and major scientific instrument development programs funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His expertise also extended to global public health efforts as a participant in the WHO-China joint study on the origins of SARS-CoV-2.

With a prolific academic record of over 240 SCI-indexed publications and more than 20 authorized patents, Professor Jiang has significantly advanced the industry’s technical capabilities. His self-developed instruments, most notably the nanoparticle size spectrometer, have seen widespread international adoption. Beyond the lab, he contributes his leadership to the National Science and Technology Major Project on Comprehensive Environmental Governance and serves as the Associate Editor for the renowned journal Aerosol Science and Technology. This latest accolade joins a distinguished list of his previous honors, including the Second Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award and the Smoluchowski Award.
