Discover the splendour of Tsinghua Libraries

Taking a walk here in Tsinghua, you will surely encounter our libraries among picturesque scenery. Established in 1912, Tsinghua University Library is currently composed of the Main Library and six branch libraries, including Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Arts Library, Finance Library, Law Library, Economics & Management Library, and Architecture Library. Covering an area of 78,647 square meters in total, the libraries play an indispensable role in Tsinghua.

Holding the vast physical collections of 5,786,100 volumes/items, libraries in Tsinghua provide students and visitors with a broad range of books and documents in all themes and disciplines. With advancements in technology, now they also offer access to 938 databases, 174,400 electronic journals, as well as 8,451,200 e-books. From humanities to science, from art to engineering, you can always find the resource you desire. Libraries are also cozy places for reading, studying, or simply taking a short rest. Page after page, shelf after shelf, you will surely gain knowledge during every visit.

With the arrival of spring, our libraries become an even more visible part of the campus scenery. On entering the Mochtar Riady Library, you are welcomed by magnolias fluttering on the branch; taking a brief glimpse out of the window of Yifu Library, you may catch sight of a tree blooming in the warm sunshine. Such moments add color to your experience with the libraries.

As a Chinese saying goes, ‘A day’s plan starts in the morning, and a year’s plan starts in spring’. Why not embrace the sea of knowledge in our libraries while enjoying the beauty of the season?
