The Student Association of Belt and Road Initiative (SABRI) is the first and largest major youth organization dedicated to the BRI in the world with 1000+ members hailing from 80+ countries and chapters in Pakistan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Iran, Russia, Turkey…
SABRI means patience, perseverance, and the eternal pursuit of wisdom in Islamic and Indian classics. Our mission is to promote comprehensive cooperation and in-depth exchanges concerning BRI among youth around the world.
The main events include Inside BRI Talks, Youth Roundtables, thematic BRI Cultural Nights, Insight BRI Tours and BRI Enterprise visits, etc.
Center for Global Competency Development (CGCD) and SABRI jointly launched the "silkroads film exchange program" to enable students to experience the beauty of multi-culture and film art on campus which has proven to be a success.
We also organized several Insight BRI Trips to Pakistan and Nepal in summer and winter holidays from 2019-2020. The team was granted gold prize for social practice.
In this pandemic crisis, SABRI members from both China and other countries organized spontaneously "International Humanitarian Assistance for Fighting against COVID-19 Pandemic" with the support of several institutions.
Core Team
Opration&Outreach Team
The Operation team is mainly in charge of connecting universities all around the world that share the same values, interests and principles of SABRI. Our "Chapters” are the bridge between the association, Tsinghua University and other leading universities of the world that focus on the BRI. Also, managing the yearly budget of the association as assisting on the draft of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for our internatinal network.
Academic Team
The Academic team is in charge of creating content for SABRI’s Podcast, planning and drafting the association’s magazine and translating relevant academic materials from countries overseas to Chinese language or the other way around.
Media&Strategy team
The media team is in charge of the operation of all media channels, including wechat account, facebook, instgram, website and linkedln, etc. Besides, we support the advertisement of all events of SABRI in Tsinghua. Thus, it's necessary for the media team to coordinate well with all other teams. We're planning to have a multimedia output process, which coordinates and publishes good contents to all platform.
If you're good at any journalism skills (photograph, design, wechat operation, or social media), you're the right person for the media team. If you're creative and have some ideas to promote SABRI to any platform, you're also welcome to media team.
Program Team
Program Team is responsible for organizing Sabri and Sabri's activities as well including and not limited to Symposiums, round table conferences, summits, Ambassadors' talks, Inside BRI talk, Salons and Sabri's Cultural parties.
Program department is looking for active and dynamic personality to join our team. Having strong sense of time management.
Coordination Team
Coordination team is in charge of member management, program coordination and event support.
In applying for this team, you are supposed to be careful about details and be good at interpersonal communication.
Practice Team
The Practice Team is committed to providing a wealth of practical opportunities for young people, emphasizing that practical results can serve socialization. Through online and offline, domestic and abroad, academic and practical training links, the practical project encourages the discussion of global development governance from the perspective of youth, deepens students’ understanding of the “Belt and Road” countries and the “New Silk Road Economic Belt”, promotes mutual trust between Chinese and foreign youths. Further, it can help enhance the global competence of participating individuals, build collective emotions and clarify career choices.
As a core member of the practice team, you can fully participate in the design of the full-cycle practice plan, you have the opportunity to lead the practice team, and also you have access to cooperation resources for off-campus practice.
We are looking for those who have participated in, enjoyed and are familiar with the practice training model, who adapted to the working style of team collaboration, and who have good Chinese and English communication and writing skills.
