Tsinghua Africa-China Youth Symposium

Time: Saturday, December 14th, 2019 9:00-14:00
Location: Hall A 278, Lee Shau Kee Science and Technology Building

In the recent years, Africa-China relations have intensified in all spheres, from Government exchanges and people-to-people interactions, to trade and many more. At this moment, the Student Association of the Belt and Road Initiative (SABRI) and the Tsinghua University African Students Association (THUASA)at Tsinghua are suggesting this symposium to encourage communication between young people from China and Africa. This event will serve as a platform for you to join the conversation on the deepening Africa-China cooperation. With a focus on key questions related to the promotion of technology and knowledge transfer, as well as educational development, you'll get to join other young people from across Beijing to discuss ways to make this cooperation more beneficial for both parties and their young people. This is a unique platform to learn and bring your contribution to the roundtable discussions.

It commemorates part two of the Africa-China Youth Forum, organized jointly by SABRI and THUASA in order to bring together young people from China and Africa to deepen their understanding of Africa-China relations and the Belt and Road Initiative as it relates to Africa on the one hand, and to gather ideas on the role youth can play to make the cooperation more beneficial for both parties. The Symposium will be held under the theme: “Africa – China Cooperation: Promoting Technology, Knowledge Transfer and Educational Development.”

The symposium will feature talks, working sessions and opportunities for cultural exchange to participants.
