Tsinghua SEM Executive Education Launches 2015 Training Program for BMW

On April 13, 2015, “BMW READY TO LEAD THE GLOBAL ORGANIZATION - READY GO PROGRAM” was launched at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM). Altogether 30 BMW global executives began their seven-day-long experiential training program at Tsinghua SEM.

Taught by renowned scholars and professors from Tsinghua SEM, the training program offers quality lectures, case studies, company visits, panel discussions attended by governmental and entrepreneurial guests, as well as Chinese cultural experience.
Mr. Philip Eller, President of BMW China Services Ltd, Group Senior Vice President of BMW AG, Mansfield Freeman Chair Professor LI Daokui, Director of Center for China in the World Economy (CCWE) at Tsinghua SEM, and Professor GAO Xudong, Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Tsinghua SEM, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.

Mr. Philip Eller regarded previous year’s training program as valuable and beneficial for BMW. China’s boosting economy and its enormous consumer base both contribute to its growing role in BMW’s global market. Accordingly, this tailor-made program perfectly fits the demands and expectations of BMW by facilitating its understanding of the Chinese market and consumers. Professor LI Daokui and Professor GAO Xudong warmly welcomed the BMW group. They remarked that, consistency, coherence and high-quality are the core values not only for Tsinghua, but also for BMW. They hoped everybody could gain a much better and deeper understanding of China and the Chinese market.

Based on last four years’ experience, this year’s program add a new “networking event”. Tsinghua SEM invited executives from Sinotrans & CSC Holdings Co. Ltd., ASIMCO Technologies Limited, SOHU, Global Logistic Properties, Co-win to exchange ideas and communicate directly with BMW participants. Ms. XIE Qihong, Associate Director of Executive Education of Tsinghua SEM appreciated the supports from the 5 companies and expected the great success of the “networking event”. With Professor Ray Di of Tsinghua SEM as the moderator, the BMW participants were separated into 5 groups to communicate with company executives, focusing on business model innovation and technological innovation.

In the seven-day program, BMW participants studied Chinese Macro-economy, Chinese Policy Environment, Chinese Culture, Leadership Development, Chinese Consumer Market and etc.
