China Pavilion Project of Milan World Expo 2015 Signing Ceremony & Tsinghua World Expo Design Research Center Opening Ceremony Held

February 25, 2014- China Pavilion Project of Milan World Expo 2015 signing ceremony and World Expo Design Research Center of Tsinghua University opening ceremony were held in Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. Vice President of Tsinghua University Xie Weihe, Deputy Director of the China Pavilion Project Organizing Committee and Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Wang Jinzhen attended the signing ceremony and deliver speeches. Chairman of the Academy Council Zhao Meng hosted the ceremony.

Zhao Zhenge, who is Deputy Secretary General of the China Pavilion Project Organizing Committee and Deputy Director of Exhibition Department of CCPIT, represents the principal; Su Dan, who is Leader of the China Pavilion Project and Vice Dean of Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and Wu Xi, who is Chairman of Beijing Qingshang Environmental & Architectural Design Institute, represent the bid winner. Both sides signed the project agreement. Xie Weihe and Wang Jinzhen unveiled plaque for the World Expo Design Research Center of Tsinghua University.

It is reported that the Milan World Expo 2015 will be held in Milan from May 1to October 31, and will run 184 days. The theme of the Expo is "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life ", involving agriculture, food, food culture and food safety. It will be the first time for China to build an independent pavilion to participate in the Expo overseas, and the China Pavilion will be the second largest national pavilion in the Expo 2015. The design proposal of Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University stands out from 14 competitors and wins the final bid.
