Tsinghua-INSEAD EMBA Program Ranked No.2 Globally by Financial Times
On 21 October 2013, the Financial Times announced the result of its 2013 EMBA Global Ranking. Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree Executive MBA Program, also known as TIEMBA is ranked second globally - a distinctive improvement from the fourth place last year. TIEMBA continues to top the chart of all EMBA programs on the Chinese mainland.
Financial Times' annual ranking is the most distinguished, most renowned and most recognized global ranking for business schools.
This is the second time Tsinghua's TIEMBA program participated in the FT ranking. EMBA programs must meet strict criteria to be considered for the ranking. The schools must be internationally accredited and their programs must have run for at least four consecutive years. This year, 136 programs took part, including 17 joint programs.
Five criteria are considered for the ranking including salary today, salary increase, career progress, female faculty, and female students. TIEMBA performed exceptionally well in "Salary Today" (second globally), "Work Experience" (second globally) and "Faculty with Doctorate" (third globally).
Professor QIAN Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, said that the rise in global ranking of the TIEMBA program from the fourth to the second place, once again shows the strong international recognition of the TIEMBA program and testifies to its global leading position. TIEMBA seeks to develop distinct business leaders with an understanding of Eastern and Western approaches to business management by equipping its graduates with critical knowledge on both China and global business environment. TIEMBA, which is taught in English only, emphasizes on developing managerial competence, global mindset, and leadership and personal development of its graduates. Both Tsinghua and INSEAD devote high caliber faculty members to give TIEMBA participants a world-class learning experience. Lessons are taught in four unique campus located globally: Tsinghua University, Beijing, China; INSEAD Asia Campus, Singapore; INSEAD Europe campus, Fontainebleau, France; as well as INSEAD Abu Dhabi campus, UAE. The integration of highly qualified faculty members, globalized campus, leadership development program and experiential learning pedagogy assures the quality of the program.
Tsinghua-INSEAD EMBA program is a partnership between Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management and INSEAD. Since its establishment in 2007, TIEMBA is in the seventh year running. There are currently 280 students and alumni from 36 countries, among whom local Chinese students makes up 24%. Average age of the participants is 34 years old, average working experience is 14 years and female ratio is 24%. Graduates of the Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree Executive MBA Program not only receive two degrees from two of the world's most prestigious business schools, but also enjoy the largest global alumni network of Tsinghua and INSEAD.
