Chen Xu Meets President Laurie Leshin of Worcester Polytechnic Institute
The Two Universities Sign a Student Exchange Agreement
On September 23, President Laurie Leshin of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) visited Tsinghua University. Tsinghua University Council Chairperson Chen Xu met with President Leshin and exchanged views on further promoting cooperation.

Chen Xu welcomed President Leshin's visit and thanked her for her support of the cooperation between the two universities. During this visit, President Leshin attended the annual academic conference of the Tsinghua University-WPI Joint Research Center for Global Public Safety. Chen Xu expressed her gratitude to President Leshin for attending the Center's annual academic conference. The cooperation between the two universities in the Joint Center for Public Security has been very effective, with work progressing smoothly. Chen Xu hoped that the cooperation between the two universities in this field can be further promoted in the future. Chen Xu said that Tsinghua welcomes more exchange students from WPI.

Leshin noted that she was very happy to revisit the beautiful Tsinghua campus, and thanked the teachers and students of the two universities for their efforts in promoting this cooperation. She noted that great progress had been made in the cooperation. She also said that the joint short-term exchange visits and summer programs have not only greatly benefited students academically, but also deepened their understanding of one another's culture. It is hoped that the cooperation between the two universities will be deepened in the future and that people-to-people exchanges further enhanced.

Following the meeting, Chen Xu and Leshin jointly signed a student exchange agreement between the two universities.
