HPE CEO Ms. Meg Whitman Visits

On the afternoon of May 13th, Professor CHEN Xu, Chairperson of the Tsinghua University Council, met with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) CEO, Ms. Meg Whitman. Professor CHENG Jianping, Executive Vice President, also attended the meeting.

In 2014, Hewlett-Packard split its organization into two companies. The first company, Hewett-Packard Enterprise, develops servers, software and cloud technology. The second, HP Inc., focuses on computers and printers. Ms. Whitman is the President & CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Chairman of the Board, Hewlett Packard Inc.

Tsinghua University’s Department of Electronics first established its cooperation with HP in the early 1990's. In the years since, the two institutions have maintained a close affiliation. During the talks, CHEN Xu welcomed Ms. Whitman on behalf of Tsinghua and expressed her thanks for HP's longstanding support. She outlined a desired roadmap for HPE and Tsinghua’s future collaboration and urged that both institutions continue to develop their international relationship.

Ms. Whitman expressed her confidence that both HPE and Tsinghua will create a new model for international cooperation.

Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Tsinghua Holdings were also present at the meeting.
