TU Delft President Visits Tsinghua

TU Delft President Professor Dirk Jan van den Berg met with Tsinghua University Council Chairperson Chen Xu during his visit on May 25.
Chen Xu briefed Professor Dirk Jan van den Berg on Tsinghua’s latest developments, particularly in regards to international cooperation. The two also discussed enhancing collaborations in student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and online education in the coming years.
On March 1, 2008 Dirk Jan van den Berg took office as president of Delft University of Technology. He is a member of various international advisory and governmental boards related to higher education and research. His academic education has been in the area of macro-economics and mathematics. He has an extensive background in international affairs and management, having previously served as the secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Dutch permanent representative to the United Nations in New York and the Dutch ambassador to China.
