RWTH Aachen University Rector Visits Tsinghua

Tsinghua University President Qiu Yong had a meeting with Rector of RWTH Aachen University Dr. Ernst Schmachtenberg on March 27. An agreement on student exchange was renewed during Dr. Schmachtenberg’s visit. Tsinghua University Vice President Yang Bin also attended the meeting.

Dr. Schmachtenberg later delivered a speech entitled RWTH Aachen University: To Nurture Leading Engineers for the Future at the Information Technology Building of Tsinghua. He noted in his speech that university should provide students with solid professional knowledge to nurture leading engineering talent and encourage them to conduct researches independently.

Dr. Schmachtenberg also visited the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Information Science and Technology and had discussions with faculty members on discipline development and academic research.
