The awards ceremony for the 2010 Beijing Government Scholarships was held on December 7th at the Beijing International Hotel. A total of 255 Tsinghua foreign students received these grants. They included 67 undergraduates, 38 Ph.D. candidates, and 150 other graduate students.

The Beijing Government Scholarships (BGS) were established by the municipal government of the Chinese capital to attract excellent foreign students to study in Beijing. They cover tuition fees either partially or fully and need to be reapplied for annually.
