The President of the University of Chicago, Dr. Robert Zimmer, met with the President of Tsinghua University, Gu Binglin, during his visit on April 27.

President Gu briefed Dr. Zimmer on Tsinghua’s latest developments,particularly in regards to international cooperation. The two also discussed enhancing collaborations in student and faculty exchanges in the coming years. They expressed the hope that further cooperation based on global issues could be built between the two universities.

Dr. Zimmer received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and became the President of the University of Chicago in 2006. He has previously visited Tsinghua in 2007 and 2009.Tsinghua Day at the University of Chicago was held on April 12 of this year, providing an opportunity for faculty members and students from the two universities to meet and strengthen academic and cultural ties.

Founded in 1890, the University of Chicago is one of the most well-known private universities in the United States.
