Mr. Hermann Requardt, CEO of the major German corporation Siemens AG, visited Tsinghua recently. Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin had a conversation with Mr. Requardt. They discussed cooperation in several fields including life science, energy, and medicine, and expressed the hope that further collaboration could be developed between Tsinghua and Siemens in the future.

Through various kinds of cooperation during the past few years, Siemens and Tsinghua have established a firm and active relationship. The two have signed a strategic cooperative agreement emphasizing the beneficial combination of knowledge and technology. In 2008, the Tsinghua Office of the Center for Knowledge Interchange was established to facilitate collaboration between Siemens and Tsinghua.
