Professor Susan Elliott, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, visited Tsinghua on December 9. Tsinghua University Council Vice Chairman Shi Zongkai had a discussion with Professor Elliott, exchanging ideas on education and university development. Professor Elliott later delivered a speech on "The Melbourne Model" to some members of the Tsinghua faculty.

Founded in the Australian city whose name it bears, the University of Melbourne has become internationally known since its inception in 1853.
