Professor Fred Hilmer, President and Vice-Chancellor and of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), visited Tsinghua on October 15th. During his visit, a student exchange agreement was signed between the two institutions.

Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin had a discussion with Professor Hilmer, giving an outline of Tsinghua's recent development. 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of UNSW. President Gu extended congratulations to the delegation and expressed the hope that collaboration between the two universities could be extended in the coming years.

Professor Hilmer visited Tsinghua's School of Aerospace and School of Information on that day.
