Finland’s Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen delivered the latest Tsinghua Global Vision Lecture "Towards a Greener Future" in the Main Building on April 20.
In his lecture, Prime Minister Vanhanen addressed environmental concerns and how green energy could help to promote the global economy. He expressed his hope that Tsinghua students would pay close attention to global issues—especially climate change.
In the discussion session after his lecture, Mr. Vanhanen answered questions about techniques to reduce green gas emissions and China’s role in dealing with global environmental issues. He offered valuable suggestions to the students on how to prepare for their future in a rapidly changing world.
Prime Minister Vanhanen was accompanied by Finland’s Ambassador to China Antti Kuosmanen and China’s Ambassador to Finland Ms. Ma Keqing. Tsinghua Vice President Xie Wei He also attended the lecture. Prime Minister Vanhanen met and exchanged ideas with Tsinghua University President Gu Binglin later that day.
