Tsinghua University awarded an Honorary Doctorate on April 10th to Mr. Fujio Mitarai, the Chairman of the Japan Business Federation and the Chairman and  CEO of Canon, Inc. Mr. Mitarai delivered a lecture in the Tsinghua Global Vision Lecture Series on that day.

The Honorary Doctorate awarding ceremony was held in Tsinghua University’s Main Building. Tsinghua President Gu Binglin awarded the diploma to Mr.Mitarai.

After the ceremony, Mr. Fujio Mitarai delivered a speech in which he shared with the audience his ideas and prospects for Sino-Japanese relations. He also discussed the cooperation between Japan and China on Global climate change. Finally, Mr. Matarai expressed the hope that the Japan Business Federation could contribute more to promoting mutual understanding and exchanges between Japan and China.
