The 2008 Tsinghua Management Global Forum was held at Tsinghua University on November 11, 2008. As the highest-level conference in the field of management held at Tsinghua University annually, the forum brought together more than 500 participants from government departments, academic and business communities to discuss how to relieve the impact brought by financial crisis to Chinese economy and Chinese enterprises.
Tsinghua Vice President Xie Weihe attended the forum and delivered welcome address. Dean of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management (SEM) Qian Yingyi also participated in the forum.
Jiang Jianqing, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Shen Liantao, Chief consultant with the China Banking Regulatory Commission and adjunct professor of Tsinghua SEM delivered keynote speeches at the forum.

A panel discussion with the theme "The adjustment of Chinese micro-economic policy in the context of global financial crisis" was held later, hosted by Professor Li Daokui, Chair of the Department of Finance and Director of the Center for China in the World Economy. Wang Zhongming, Director-General, Research Center of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Guan Tao, Deputy head of the general affairs department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, and Wu Xiaoqiu, President Assistant of Renmin University of China and Director of the Finance and Securities Institute of Renmin University of China participated in the discussion. The second panel discussion focused on “Challenges and Solutions for Chinese Enterprises Facing Global Financial Crisis”, hosted by Professor Yang Baiyin, Chair of the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. Three Tsinghua EMBA participants Zong Guyin, board chairman of Zhejiang Mengna Knitting Corporation, Guo Lijiang, Vice Manager General of China Mobile(Shenzhen)Limited and Yang Wentao, deputy general manger of Lenovo Group's global procurement division participated in the discussion.
