The Tsinghua-University of California, San Diego (UCSD) joint Symposium on US-China cooperation in the social sciences, technology and the economy after the US presidential election was held on November 10 at Tsinghua University. In all about 60 experts from UCSD participated in the symposium.

Tsinghua Deputy President Chen Jining attended the opening ceremony on November 10th and addressed the representatives. He noted that Sino-American bi-lateral relations are one of the most important in the modern world. He said that the discussions will help to explore even better bilateral relations between the two nations.
Professor Peter Cowey, Dean of the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at UC San Diego, Professor Frieder Seible, Dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego, and Mr. Irwin Jacobs, Chairman of Qualcomm Incorporated and Advisory Board member of Tsinghua’s School of Economics and Management, participated in the symposium.
