Dr. Peter Goddard, Director of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Princeton, New Jersey in the U.S., visited Tsinghua University on October 31. Tsinghua President Gu Binglin discussed ideas with Dr. Goddard on recent developments in education at Tsinghua University and the Institute for Advanced Study. Dr. Goddard and President Gu signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further promote academic exchanges and cooperation between Tsinghua and the IAS in the future.

According to the MOU, Tsinghua University and the Institute for Advanced Study will encourage Tsinghua faculty to visit and do research in the Institute for Advanced Study. Tsinghua and the IAS will also encourage dialogue and interaction between the two institutions and their faculties.
