Professor Chen Xi, Chairman of Tsinghua University Council, visited India from September 7 to 9 and signed a MOU with Indian Institute of Technology.
During the visit, Professor Chen had a discussion with Professor B.N. Jain, Deputy Director of IIT Delhi. During the talk, the two reached a common understanding that both sides should carry out concrete cooperation on faculty and student exchange as well as research cooperation for postgraduates. After the talk, they signed the MOU of academic cooperation and exchange.
The visit coincides with the visit from Mr. YANG Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. On the evening of September 8, Minister YANG and his Indian counterpart Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee witnessed the MOU signing after their talk.
The delegation also visited Delhi University.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) is one of the most renowned universities in India with 13 departments and about 6000 students. IIT Delhi is the first university that has established partnership with Tsinghua.
