City University of Hong Kong President Appointed Tsinghua Guest Professor

City University of Hong Kong President Professor Way Kuo delivered a Tsinghua Global Vision Lectures speech on June 4. Earlier in the day Professor Kuo was appointed a Tsinghua Guest Professor. Tsinghua Vice President Kang Kejun presided at the conferring ceremony and presented the honorary appointment book to Professor Kuo. 

Professor Kuo became the President of City University of Hong Kong on May 14, 2008. He received his PhD degree in engineering in 1980 from Kansas State University. Before joining City University, Professor Kuo was University Distinguished Professor and Dean of Engineering at the University of Tennessee (UT). He is a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.  He is also an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering, Academia Sinica in Taiwan and the International Academy for Quality. Professor Kuo is renowned for his work in designing and modeling reliability for electronics systems and products and is a recipient of the IEEE Reliability Society Lifetime Achievement Award.
