The UC Berkeley Men’s Octet presented an traffic stopping outdoor concert on the Tsinghua campus on the afternoon of May 27. Their fair-sounding singing and passionate performance attracted a large gathering of Tsinghua students and faculty members who had been passing-by.

During the half-hour show at the Student Service Center, the Octet performed several well known songs, including “Get Around”, “Loves Me”, “Coney Island Baby” and “Lion King Medley”. Their singing and dancing won applause and chuckles from the audience, which was pleasantly amused and entertained. Those who were familiar with the lyrics sang along.

The Berkeley Men’s Octet is an eight-member a cappella singing group comprised of some of the finest male singers at Cal. Founded in 1948, the Octet has entertained audiences around the world with its unique blend of close harmonies and zany stage antics. Dazzling fans with a wide repertoire of barbershop, doo-wop, contemporary pop, modern alternative, and, of course, Berkeley fight songs, the group has released dozens of recordings over the years. The Octet is also the only two time champion of the International Collegiate A Cappella Competition.
