During the Todai Week at Tsinghua, President Komiyama granted an interview to a student reporter in which he shared his ideas about education and cooperation.
Talking about cooperation and exchanges between the University of Tokyo and Tsinghua, President Komiyama emphasized the importance of faculty and student exchange, especially communication and exchange between young students. He noted that more opportunities should be created for exchange and communication among students. He said he hoped more collaboration could be built between Tsinghua and the University of Tokyo.
During the interview, President Komiyama also emphasized the importance of research and culture cultivation in education.
Dr. Hiroshi Komiyama became the 28th president of the University of Tokyo in April 2005. He specializes in chemical engineering, global environmental engineering and the structuring of knowledge.
