A collaborative agreement was recently signed between Tsinghua and the Boeing Company. Mr. Don Winter, Boeing’s Vice President of Engineering and Information Technology in Advanced R&D unit, Mr. Wang Jianmin, President of Boeing (China), Tsinghua Vice President Kang Kejun, and Professor Niu Zhisheng, Vice Chair of the School of Information Science and Technology, attended the signing ceremony.
Vice President Kang outlined Tsinghua’s wireless communications technology development and said he hoped the cooperation can further promote research in related fields in China.
“These new research collaborations are manifestations of our strategy to leverage world-class research wherever it resides,” said Mr. Winter. “Chinese universities have made great strides in their research capabilities, particularly in wireless and information technology. Our hope is that this is just the start of a mutually beneficial long-term research partnership.”
Besides Tsinghua, Boeing has also entered into collaborative agreements with Southeast University in Nanjing and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to research and develop new wireless communications technology.
