​Professor Bai Ming was invited to join AST 21 to promote art and technology

Professor Bai Ming from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, has been invited to join the Arts, Sciences & Technologies au 21e siècle (AST 21), a notable French federation. Actively promoting international cultural exchanges in the past decades, Bai is also a well-known scholar and artist, a director of a gallery, and a curator.

The main purpose of AST 21 is to promote science, art, and culture to youngsters and the public, establish partnerships with various institutions, and inform the public of the latest scientific innovations and applications through artistic activities. They also aim to support ongoing digital revolutions, strengthen the relationship between art and science, and address various issues such as education, economics, technology, and ecology. Major subjects of interest include artificial intelligence, climate and environment, clean energy, life science and health, quantum technologies, education, and the youth.

Prof. Bai's literary work, The Traditional Crafts of Porcelain Making in Jingdezhen, sorts through the traditional porcelain-making processes in Jingdezhen -- known as the porcelain capital of China -- from the perspectives of technology and art. He has held exhibitions in France. His works of art are collected by the British Museum, the Musée Cernuschi, and the Musée des Arts Asiatiques. Collaborating with Prof. Bai, AST 21 will conduct a series of events at home and abroad in 2023.
