The award ceremony of the barefoot games was held in Tsinghua on October 8.

Wang Xiqing, president of Tsinghua University, Guo Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, Shi Zongkai, vice chairperson of the University Council, and relevant responsible persons attended in the ceremony. A total of 4,804 students and faculty members from 35 schools and departments participated in the games.

The games included group jump rope, a relay, a three-legged race and other competitions, helping students learn how to cooperate as a group in a competition.

Class 23 from the Department of Automation came first place in the barefoot games, and classes 25, 21 from the same department came in second place and third place respectively. The Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Computer Science and Technology and another 8 departments won the PE Morality Award.

The barefoot games started in 1997 and is a sports event for freshmen. Every year, it enjoys a large number of applicants, who compete in a variety of activities and competitions in bare feet.
