Tsinghua Crowned Champion in the 5th China College Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
On the evening of October 14th, Tsinghua University won the Championship in the 5th China College Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, scoring 1250 points with its project of unmanned Compound Synchropter with Pusher Propeller. A total of 4,093 schools from 124 countries and regions participated in the competition. Four teams from Tsinghua University were shortlisted for the finals. Team RealAI won the gold award and ranked among the Top 30. Team TC Air technology and Team CytoNiche Biotech won silver awards. They fared better than any of their predecessors in previous competitions participated by Tsinghua University.
China College Students’ ‘Internet Plus’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was first held in 2015. It is a major event for innovation and entrepreneurship jointly hosted by 12 central ministries and local people’s governments at the provincial level, including the Ministry of Education. The competition aims to deepen overall reform of higher education, encourage college students to innovate and train them as the leading force in “mass entrepreneurship and innovation”. The competition also spares no efforts in commercializing its achievements, advancing the emerging form of business “Internet Plus”, upgrading the economy to improve quality and efficiency, leading entrepreneurship with innovation and creating jobs with entrepreneurship, thus promoting better entrepreneurship and employment for college graduates.
The 5th Competition was officially launched in March 2019, with 4.574 million registered participants and 1.097 million projects from 124 countries and regions. The number of registered participants and projects reached a record high, indicating its widespread international influence. The competition has become an influential event of innovation and entrepreneurship for all college students from all universities across China.
