President of Tsinghua University visits the University of Toronto, Canada

On September 20th, Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, visited the University of Toronto, Canada, and met with Meric Gertler, President of the University of Toronto, to promote ongoing cooperation between the two universities.

President Qiu gave an introduction to Tsinghua University's Global Strategy. Following this, he was invited to introduce Tsinghua University’s approach to improving the quality of undergraduate education. Tsinghua President Qiu said that since the beginning of its new century development, Tsinghua had actively promoted the construction of a global strategic partnership and attached great importance to cooperation and exchanges with world-class universities such as the University of Toronto. President Qiu expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to explore and innovate ways in which they may cooperate.

On behalf of the University of Toronto, Professor Gertler welcomed the visit of President Qiu Yong and congratulated Tsinghua University on its achievements. He said that Tsinghua University was an important partner of the University of Toronto and that the University of Toronto would continue to deepen its cooperation with Tsinghua.

After the meeting, President Qiu Yong exchanged ideas with Tsinghua alumni studying at the University of Toronto and visited the DGP Lab.
