Tsinghua University 2019 Graduate Students Opening Ceremony

On the morning of August 21st, the Tsinghua University 2019 Graduate Students’ Opening Ceremony was held at the Sports Center. More than 8,000 new graduate students attended the ceremony and thereby embarked on a new journey in their lives at Tsinghua.

Qiu Yong, the President of Tsinghua University, extended his congratulations and welcomed the new students on behalf of the university.

“At the most creative stage of your lives, you are here together at Tsinghua to pursue your academic dreams. Scholarship, which can stimulate people's inner poetic imagination and deep thinking, is a career worth your lifelong pursuit. Seeking truth and obtaining true knowledge are scholars’ original aspiration and mission. Having set your heart on learning, you must pursue truth and keep your pure heart forever; uphold the spirit of independence and strive for originality; maintain academic dignity and be strictly self-disciplined,” said President Qiu.
