Tsinghua University’s ballroom dance team won the championship title at the 22nd CBDF Academy Cup held in Tianjin on May 4.

The Tsinghua University Ballroom Dance Team of the Student Art Troupe won the Cup’s championship title, with a total score of 87 points. Teams from Tsinghua University, Peking University and other universities competed at the dancing competition this year.

Established in 1993, the Tsinghua University Ballroom Dance Team of the Student Art Troupe is one of the earliest teams among the ballroom dance teams from Chinese universities. The team has represented the university in top international competitions such as the International Standard Dance World Championship and the CBDF Academy Cup. At the same time, the team has been invited to participate in the Chinese Ball-Vienna Debutant, shining on the international stage and making friends with international students.

The team has been adhering to the concept of inclusion and responding to Tsinghua's call for "more internationalization", with members from Mexico, Argentina, Russia and other countries becoming the team’s backbone and participating in various competitions and performances. Moreover, the team has played an important role in bringing together professional ballroom dance institutions and universities to cultivate talent.
