2015 International Summer School Closed


SOE August 21, 2015 On Aug. 21th, the completing presentation and closing ceremony of 2015 International Summer School was held in the School of Environment, Tsinghua University (SOE). SOE Vice-Dean Zuo Jian’e, Vice-Chairman of SOE Council Liu Jianguo, Dean Assistant Lu Yun, and the teachers’ representatives Zhang Xiaoyuan and Zhang Fang took part in the ceremony.

On the morning, divided into seven groups, the students exhibited their achievements in the completing presentation, which involved sustainable development, urbanization and renewable energy. Each group expressed their viewpoints towards these issues , featuring their different background of major,  districts and countries. After the presentations, the teachers raised questions and had further discussions with the students. Finally, the judges graded each group on the basis of their performances.

A closing ceremony was held on the afternoon. Jin Ningning from RWTH(Rheinisch-Westfaelische Technische Hochschule) Aachen University, Christopher Charlton from Newcastle University and Zhou Siqi from East China Normal University, on behalf of international students and domestic students respectively, made speeches sharing their experiences and impressions.

Pro. Lu Yun  offered completing certificates to all the students.Pro. Zuo Jian’e awarded twenty-five students with honorable prizes.

Afterwards, Pro. Lu Yunintroduced the programs for overseas students in SOE including the qualification,courses and the scholarships。
 In the end, Pro. Zuo Jian’e made closing remarks about the  summer school. He expressed great thanks to the teachers  and assistants. Also, he thought highly of the students’ performance during the 12-day’s study.

As the  2015 International Summer School, co-hosted by the School of Environment and State Key Joint Laboratory of Environment Simulation and Pollution Control  came to an end, students from home and abroad not only learned professional skills but also exchanged ideas, broadened visions, and gained friendships.
