Tsinghua President Qiu Yong Hosts Temple Univ. (USA) Provost Dai Hailong

On April 21, 2015, Tsinghua University President Dr. Qiu Yong met with Temple University (USA) Provost and Vice President Dr. Dai Hailong at Tsinghua University in Beijing.


Dr. Dai Hailong first expressed congratulations to Dr. Qiu Yong for his selection as president of Tsinghua University. The two educational leaders from the Chinese and American universities discussed the administrative system of higher education and the professor recruitment system. At the time of the meeting, Tsinghua University is celebrating its 104th anniversary and President Qiu Yong pointed out that Tsinghua University is tirelessly continuing to work towards creating brilliance in this new century.


Also attending the meeting were Tsinghua Law School Dean Wang Zhenmin, Tsinghua University School of Chemistry Dean Wang Xun, Tsinghua University Policy Research Office Dean Xiang Botao, and Temple University Chinese Legal System Program Director Sang Guoya.

The Tsinghua-Temple Master of Laws degree program has been in existence for 14 years. During this time, due to the joint efforts of Tsinghua University in Beijing and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), 1,281 Chinese students have graduated from the program with enhanced international legal skills and increased knowledge of American law. At the event, Tsinghua University President Qiu Yong said he attaches great importance to the Tsinghua-Temple LLM Program, in particular, he has high hopes there will be more cooperation between the two universities in the future and the program will continue to make contributions to the construction of China’s legal system.
