Professor Cui Jianyuan from Tsinghua Law School attended the meeting on the 3rd amendment of General Parts of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China(Draft)

During February 13th-14th, 2017, the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee held its first meeting with the Legislative Experts Board in Beijing. Li Shishi, director of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, fully participated in the meeting that lasted for two days and half. Zhang Rongshun, deputy Director of the Legislative Affairs Commission, and Lang Sheng, director of the Legislative Experts Board, presided at the meeting.

Eight legislative experts, including Professor Cui Jianyuan and two linguistic experts, attended the meeting. Each expert worked all the way through the revised version of the 3rd amendment of the General Parts of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China(Draft). The main task of the meeting is to further eliminate the possible problems in the revised version.

Legislative experts of “the Legislative Experts Board of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee” are selected from senior legal experts and scholars with rich practical experience or great academic achievements. Professor Cui Jianyuan is one of the 14 legislative experts who attended this meeting.

Professor Cui Jianyuan’s academic interest is Civil Law and Commercial Law. He has earned great achievements of legal research on Contractual Liability, Contract Law, Real Estate Law of China and published more than 70 papers. Meanwhile, he acts as vice president of Chinese Civil Law Society, arbitrator of CIETAC, arbitrator of Beijing Arbitration Commission and legal consultant of People Daily.
