Dean Shen Weixing attended the conference on the Values of the Rule of Law in the Era of Globalization

During January 9th -10th ,2017, the conference on the Values of the Rule of Law in the Era of Globalization was held at Renmin University of China successfully. It was co-hosted by Renmin University of China Law School, Tsinghua Law School, Peking Law School, Hong Kong University Law School , Chinese University of Hong Kong Law School and City University of Hong Kong Law School.

The aim is to build up the “3+3”legal communication mechanism between mainland and Hongkong law schools and provide the continuous support for the legal research and education of both places. Professor Shen Weixing, Dean of the Tsinghua Law School, associate professor Chen Hangping, associate professor Tu Kai and assistant professor Liu Han attended the meeting.

 A series of topics was discussed during the conference including keynote speech, the value of the rule of law, the rule of law and justice, deans dialogue: the rule of law and the function of law schools, the rule of law and human rights and the challenge and expectation of the rule of law.

 As the main part of the conference, the deans made a dialogue on “the rule of law and the functions of law schools”. Dean Shen Weixing discussed law schools’ importance in the development of the rule of law.

The conference achieved more than academic exchange. It deepened the cooperation and communication among these six famous law schools. The “3+3”mechanism provides a good opportunity for Tsinghua Law School to strengthen its ties with other top law schools and increase its social influence among the international legal community.
