Chen Xu, the Chairperson of Tsinghua University Council, visited the University of Sydney, and signed a Dual Law Degree Pathway Agreement between the Tsinghua University, School of Law and the University of Sydney, School of Law

From September 20th to the 21st, Chen Xu, the Chairperson of Tsinghua University Council, paid a visit to the University of Sydney. She met with the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Sydney, Dr. Michael Spence.  An agreement was signed between the two universities for a double degree program in law, with an aim to promote scholarly communications and student exchange programs. 

According to the agreement, a “3+2” joint training program will be officially launched by the law schools on both sides. Tsinghua University will choose students on a yearly basis to attend this joint training program, in which they are expected to complete three years of undergraduate study at Tsinghua University, and a two-year J.D. program at the University of Sydney. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded an LL.B. by Tsinghua University and a J.D. by the University of Sydney. 

On Sep 20th, Chen attended a meeting with the Sydney-Tsinghua Energy Alliance.  Afterwards, she and her entourage paid a visit to the Charles Perkins Center at the University of Sydney, a newly established medical institute specializing in the study of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
