Department of mechanical engineering held the teaching supervision kick-off meeting

On the afternoon of November 16th, the teaching supervision kick-off meeting was held in Room A942-2 of Siu-Kei Lee Science and Technology Building. Five teaching supervisors hired, Xiang-feng Liu, Zhi-jun Wu, Zhi-jing Feng, Ren-ji Zhang, Ji Liang, as well as dean of the department Jian-bin Luo, deputy head of the department Jia-dao Wang, deputy head of the department Hai-yan Zhao, director of the department teaching laboratory Zhi-rong Lin, teaching committee secretary Peng Mou attended the meeting.

Jian-bin Luo analyzed the significance of the teaching supervision work from classroom management, classroom evaluation and promotion of "teaching" and "learning", and pointed out that the teaching supervision would not only assess the key courses, but also improve teachers' teaching level and teaching quality. Jian-bin Luo also pointed out that the teaching supervision should pay attention to the objectivity and impartiality of the evaluation process, and suggested to do a good job in teaching evaluation information feedback, statistics and analysis, for better promoting the teaching quality. As proposed by Jianbin Luo, the meeting decided to nominate Xiang-feng Liu as the head of the teaching supervision group and Peng Mou as the secretary of the teaching supervision group.

Five teaching supervisors put forward some suggestions from their own teaching experience, and shared their understanding of the teaching supervision work. In combination with the practical teaching situation of mechanical engineering department, five professors pointed out that the teaching supervision was aimed at promoting teachers' teaching, training plan implementation and multidimensional evaluation, etc.

Hai-yan Zhao reported the main points of the rules of classroom teaching evaluation measures to the group. Jia-dao Wang pointed out the positive role of teaching supervision evaluation from the perspective of the department personnel system reform. In the future, the teaching supervision would be an important reference to the professional title promotion, personnel series admittance and performance salary.

In the end, Professor Jian-bin Luo issued an appointment letter to five supervisors.
