In addition to course work, M.A. and Ph.D. students in the department are required to participate in advisors’ research projects in order to receive first-hand training through practicing research methods learned in class.  Placement of M.A. students includes jobs in government agencies, enterprises and organizations, and pursuit for Ph.D. degrees oversea.  Ph.D. students mostly take teaching positions in other universities and academic institutes, such as Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Renmin University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Sciences and Technology, Sichuan University, etc.
