Zhao Yufen |

Zhao Yufen, Professor of the Department of Chemistry, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She was born in Qi county of Henan province of China in 1948. Her B.S. degree in Chemistry was obtained from Taiwan Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry in 1975 from State University of New York Stony Brook, with Professor Fausto Ramirez. She is a committee member of the Chinese Chemistry Society, and active member-academician of the International Academy of Sciences, and a member of the International Society for the Study of the Origin of Life. Currently she is the dean of the National Education Committee open laboratory for Bio-organic Phosphorus Chemistry, and Vice-dean of the School of Life Sciences and Engineering at Tsinghua University. Her research fields include organic phosphorus chemistry and bio-organic chemistry, especially high-coordinated phosphorus chemistry and life chemistry. She has now five patents and more than 120 papers published. She has been awarded the Second Prize of the Chinese Academia Sinica, the Second Prize of National Education Committee, and the Chinese Young Scientist Award. |
